Dan Lockton is a designer and researcher interested in finding new ways of helping people understand the world through design. Lockton is Director of the Imaginaries Lab and Chair of Design Studies at Carnegie Mellon University's School of Design.
In this workshop, Lockton will guide participants in the design and creation of qualitative interfaces—exploring ways to think about and represent qualities of phenomena rather than tabulating their quantitative information.
Much of how we construct meaning in the real world is qualitative rather than quantitative. We think and act in response to, and in dialogue with, qualities of phenomena, and relationships between them.Dan Lockton
