Ali Momeni is an Iranian-born artist and designer whose research interests span performative robotics, interactive projection, machine learning for artists, and the intersection of sound, music, and health.

Momeni has a doctoral degree in music composition, improvisation, and performance with computers.

He is the founder of the Center for Urban Intervention Research, an interdisciplinary hub for art, community engagement, and activism.

In one artwork, If the lion could speak…, Momeni attempted to establish a dialogue with bees using shared sounds and images.

You still need artists to come up with ideas that matter and come up with strange, provocative, innovative ways of sharing these ideas with other people. And AI doesn’t do that. AI is really for... expanding your research skills beyond what is humanly possible.
